Wessex Gravel Adventures are the only guided bike packing touring company in Hampshire.  With years of experience leading challenging but achievable bike packing breaks across the Wessex region.

 

New to bike packing?  Bike packing is a cycle trip carried out on a gravel bike or adventure bike, where you carry minimal kit for your multi-day adventure.   All kit is carried on the gravel bike which is half hardtail mountain bike / half road bike.  As you progress on your trip you will stay under the stars and camp in the beautiful countryside.

 

Wessex Gravel Adventures offer three iconic bike backing adventures within Hampshire, the South Downs Way, King Alfred’s Way and New Forest.

 

Why not try a taster session in the New Forest? This session has no pre-planned route and is decided together once the group gathers in the Forest.  You will improve your bike handling skills and how to ride on different terrain with kit on the bike.

 

The South Downs Way stretches 100 miles from Winchester to Eastbourne in East Sussex traveling through the stunning South Down’s National Park.

 

King Alfred’s Way launched in 2020 and is a circular route which starts in Winchester and takes riders on 350km route through Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Surrey and back into Hampshire.

 

Group sizes for your gravel adventure are up to 6 people and one guide (COVID-19 guidelines permitted).

 

Included in the tour is a qualified and skilled guide and on-bike equipment.  The on-bike equipment includes; handlebar rolls, large seat post bags, bottle cages, self-inflating mattress, premium down sleeping bags, bag liners, bivi bags, tarp set ups and head torch.  To reward you with your hard endeavour a stove, pots, cutlery and insulated mugs to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Please note bike hire is not included.
