Foraging Courses in the New Forest

Wild Food UK are very privileged to be running their foraging courses in the New Forest. It has a diverse and protected ecosystem, being one of the most important sites for fungi in Britain. There really aren't many better places around to learn about the wonderful wild foods that are available in the UK throughout the year.

The course begins at The Red Shoot with a short introduction to foraging, what you will be hoping to spot and a brief of the general countryside codes.

Then set off for about 2.5 hrs around the forest, with Wild Food UK teaching you how to identify the different edible and poisonous plants and mushrooms that you find. The course will stop along the way for a seasonal homemade refreshment such as lovely wild food soup and elderflower champagne. After the walk around it is back to the Red Shoot for a wild food lunch based on what you have found.

After the course, Wild Food UK will email you with notes of everything that was spotted on the day to help you to remember what you learned.
