About
Horseshoe Cottage is at the end of a remote lane, tucked between the trees near the popular village of Burley in the New Forest. Sleeping just two lucky guests with a mezzanine double bedroom, this dinky semi-detached cottage for adults only is packed with comfort and character. French doors dominate one end of the lounge/diner, providing views over a large sun terrace with seating and across to the woods on the other side of the walled garden.
There’s something quite magical about the outside space at Horseshoe Cottage. You don’t have to be an avid naturalist to appreciate the lush fauna-filled setting surrounding the cottage. Each season brings a new view bursting with woodland wildlife and birdsong. There's also a large lake, which is filled with colourful lilies in the warmer months and teeming with dragonflies, ducks, kingfishers and the odd heron.
It's a couple of miles through the woods (or a quick zip in the car) to Burley, where you’ll find village shops, cafes and a couple of great restaurants for dinner. The National Park attractions are all close by, and the golden, sandy beach at Highcliffe Castle is just twenty minutes south.
