Romsey Signal Box is a working museum, to be enjoyed by all generations, with or without an interest in railways. Romsey Signal Box has been restored to full working order, with all the equipment and furniture to have been found in a traditional signal box.

Several of the levers have been connected to a point and signals outside. Visitors are invited to operate the point and signals, and to observe the signal box in operation.

Demonstrations are given to explain the workings of the signal box. This is complemented by a miniature signal box being operated by trained volunteers to a timetable.

The site also includes a close view of the canal, and various other items of railway interest.The Audrey Gebbie Discovery Centre includes a range of interactive exhibits for all ages and a miniature garden railway with James the Red Engine. 

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Nominal entrance charge applies. 

Don't forget to browse the books and souvenirs that are for sale and visit Buffer Stop Cafe where you can enjoy drinks, cakes and snacks. 

The site is fully accessible, with the exception of the signal box, access to which is by a flight of stairs. Live CCTV coverage of the inside of the signal box can be viewed in the cafe.
