Emsworth Museum

Emsworth Museum

Gen up on the town’s history by a pit stop at the Emsworth Museum. The museum holds collections of the works of P.G. Woodhouse and Sir Peter Blake. It also depicts the life of a bustling fishing port, farming and commercial centre.

Emsworth harbour walk

Take the walk along Emsworth’s harbour wall for spectacular views over the water and the town. A great spot for watching the sunset. 

Crabbing 

Crabbing is a popular activity with many families choosing to go crabbing from the harbour wall. Crab nets and bait can be bought from the local hardware store. Just be sure to pop the crabs back into the water gently afterwards.

With its pretty courtyard garden, grab breakfast or lunch at the Driftwood Café, right in the heart of Emsworth.

This small nature reserve is a haven for wildlife, offering short nature walks and an ideal spot for a picnic.

Just a few miles from Emsworth, on the outskirts of Havant, is Staunton Country Park. Popular with families, Staunton offers a petting farm, gardens, a maze, a play barn, fishing, walking, cycling and orienteering trails. 

Stansted Park

With 1,800 acres of extraordinary, landscaped parkland, Stansted Park is another easy day out you can do from Emsworth. The grounds and walled gardens are open all year; this includes the arboretum, The Pavilion Tearoom, the Stansted Park Garden Centre, the farm shop, maze and the Stansted Park Light Railway. Stansted House is worth a visit too and is furnished as though the 10th Earl is still living there, giving a great feel of a bygone era. 

Look out for special events taking place at Stansted Park including live music and outdoor cinema screenings. 

Walk the Solent Way

Emsworth

This long-distance 60-mile walking route follows the Solent coastline and starts (or finishes depending on which way you undertake it) from Emsworth to Milford-on-sea. Take in some stunning views across the water, including some of the New Forest coastline along the way.

The Solent Way is one of the most picturesque walks in Hampshire, taking in views of the Hampshire countryside, Solent and Isle of Wight. The route is 60 miles and is broken into 8 sections and stretches from Milford on Sea to Emsworth which is at the top of Chichester Harbour. The Solent Way is great to walk all year round, from the summer where you can see the sunset on the Solent or in the colder months when the seas are even more lively.
