About
A charmingly relaxed cafe, set within the original vaulted barn and extending to the Garden Room, is the perfect place to meet with friends and family for breakfast, brunch, lunch and tea. In warmer months, guests can sit outdoors on the garden terrace, brimming with flowers, plants, and trees and take tea overlooking a view of the fragrant lavender.
Long Barn cook to the seasons. The choice of dishes varies according to the time of year. Simplicity, freshness and good quality produce are key to our seasonally inspired menu. Spring brings elderflowers and rhubarb into our homemade cakes. In the Summer the most is made of the abundant Hampshire Watercress in salads. In the Autumn enjoy roasted butternut squash and mushroom risottos, and finally, in Winter, treat yourself to puddings with seasonal fruits and are always game for pies of any kind. During feast days they look to tradition to guide them: mince pies, rich fruit cake and puddings are available from November, and during Easter, pile up the sticky hot cross buns and chocolate cakes.
Pop in for a coffee and something sweet from the counter or stay for longer and enjoy a dish from the garden kitchen – everyone is welcome to sit down with us and soak up the warm ambience at the heart of the barn.
