About
This summer Sunday you get a free ride on a heritage bus followed by half price entry to The Diving Museum and a half price cuppa at Bayside Cabin which is right next door to the museum.
Tours start from Gosport Bus Station at 12 noon and 2pm and return journeys from the Diving Museum are at 2.11pm. and 3.30pm.
Look out for the vintage single decker bus in the emerald green and cream livery which was carried by Provincial buses and trams since the late 1800s. The bus was new to the Gosport and Fareham Omnibus Company in 1972 and was based at Hoeford Depot until 1984. For the next eleven years she was used by the Portsmouth-based Royal Marine Volunteer Cadet Corps before being purchased for preservation by the current owner (and driver). This bus is a private historic vehicle and the owner/driver is kindly inviting us to enjoy a free tour on his bus on this special occasion.
The bus will depart from Gosport bus station stopping off right outside The Diving Museum in Stokes Bay. The museum's guides will be delighted to give you a tour of the museum. After spending time exploring Gosport’s diving heritage, you can present your ticket at the Bayside Café next door in exchange for a half price discount on a cuppa. You may even have time to dip your toes in the Solent before returning to the bus stop to catch the same bus back to Gosport bus station.
Bring the family, jump aboard and enjoy a wonderful vintage summer Sunday in Gosport. We look forward to welcoming you!
Tickets can be purchased from The Diving Museum (open weekends 11am – 3.30pm) or from The Tourist Information Centre at the Gosport bus station. (Your ticket admits you to The Diving Museum and is also your half price drink voucher. After visiting the museum, present your ticket at Bayside Cabin Café to get a half price cuppa).
