About
Lymington Open Gardens 2024
Sunday 26 May 2pm - 6pm
Lymington Open Gardens is organised by the Friends of St Barbe Museum and – as well as being a hugely enjoyable event for the whole town to enjoy – is a major fundraiser for the museum.
All proceeds help the museum care for and display its unique collection, mount exciting art exhibitions and further the museum's extensive outreach programme – putting the community at the heart of everything we do.
Admission to the gardens is by programme costing £8 per adults (children 12 and under free). This gives unique access to 13 private gardens and hidden spaces around Lymington. It also describes each garden and includes a map to help you plan your afternoon.
Programmes will be available to purchase as follows:
From the beginning of May:
St Barbe Museum in New Street (open Monday-Saturday 10-4) and also on Sunday 26 May (10-4).
And also, on from 1.30pm on 26 May, at the following two locations:
Outside the United Reformed Church (High Street) and Outside Chawton House Surgery (St Thomas Street).
Please note that, this year, we will not be selling programmes at every garden.
As most of the gardens are within walking distance of each other, we encourage you to park the car and discover the gardens on foot or by bicycle. Most gardens are wheelchair accessible; at least in part.
Teas with home-made cakes will be available at the United Reformed Church on the High Street, while the Old School Cafe at the museum will be open from 10-4 for teas, coffees, light lunches and cake. There will be a plant stall outside the United Reformed Church and also at 17 Ambleside Road.
