Riverford Organic Farmers and Hampshire Fare have teamed during Hampshire Food Festival to bring you lunch with a difference!
The day will consist of a farm tour and cooking class at Riverford Norton Farm, Winchester.
The focus of the day is on those who are considering life with a veg box, and maybe have questions around how a box would work for them and their family, this event will give you the chance to ask questions around becoming a customer as well as sampling our produce as see for yourself how amazing it tastes!
Arrival at 10am for refreshments before beginning your cookery demo, where we will be cooking with the best seasonal organic vegetables. The focus of the class will be an introduction to 'life with a veg box' and how this will work for your family. We will also learn a number of techniques to make the most of our wonderful produce and ensure you are eating more of the green stuff!
What we'll be cooking on the day (subject to seasonal change):
- Roasted kohlrabi with Spiced Carrot & Cannellini Dip
- Herby Rice Salad with Spring Veg
- Spinach, Green Bean & Chickpea Curry
Once prepared, you'll sit down with the other guests and class instructor and enjoy our creations.
After lunch we will begin a short tour of Upper Norton Farm, to show you how and why we choose organic farming.
The day will wrap up around 2:45pm. Please bring suitable footwear for uneven/wet ground.
There will be plenty of opportunity to ask any questions and receive individual guidance on useful skills for making the most of your veg at home.
The cost of the class includes a copy of Riverford's spring and summer cook book and your first medium sized veg box (8 varieties of veg) delivered to your house the following week.
