Also forming part of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Explosion offers an insight into weaponry and firearms. Set in a former gunpowder and munitions depot, the museum offers interactive and hands-on activities and exhibits.
Gosport Museum & Art Gallery
Gosport Museum shines a spotlight on the town’s rich heritage. With exhibition space dedicated to local art and history. Younger visitors will love the interactive Play Gallery and the landscaped courtyard is an ideal spot for enjoying refreshments from the onsite café.
Gosport beaches
Take a stroll along some of Gosport’s beaches. Stokes Bay is a popular, shingle beach which is popular with all ages. Or, head slightly further west to Lee-on-Solent, where you’ll find several cafes and restaurants for a spot of pre- or post-beach food.
The Gosport Ferry
For an alternative way of seeing Gosport and Portsmouth Harbour, catch the Gosport Ferry, a foot-passenger ferry, which takes you straight into the heart of Portsmouth. From here, you can easily walk to the Spinnaker Tower or the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
