Tall Tree Walk New Forest
See some of the oldest and tallest trees in the New Forest National Park. This 1.5 mile walk was created by the Foresty Commission and if perfect for those little explorers.
Winchester
Enjoy a peaceful walk along the beautiful water meadows in Winchester. If you’re feeling energetic, head up to St Catherine’s Hill for amazing panoramic views of the city. This is the perfect place to escape from the Christmas Chaos for a moment of calm.
Emsworth
Head to Emsworth to see their Lobster Pot Christmas Tree and explore Emsworth further by following the Oyster Trail, a historic walk starting at the town’s museum.
Moors Valley Country Park
Take the little ones out to Moors Valley Country Park and enjoy a number of play areas, woodland walks and the tree top trail.
South Downs National Park
Enjoy some peace and quiet during the Christmas rush by taking in the breath taking views from the view point at Old Winchester Hill in the South Downs. Alternatively take on a challenge and complete part of the famous South Downs Way.
Odiham
Take the family on a historic walk around the wonderful Odiham castle. Explore the ruins and find out about the castles fasinating history.
Queen Elizabeth Country Park
Did Father Christmas bring your little ones bikes? Take them to Queen Elizabeth Country Park where they can peddle to there hearts content and let off some post-Christmas steam.
Itchen Valley Country Park
Pack up the turkey sandwiches and have a winter picnic at Itchen Valley Country Park followed by gentle walk around the Meadows Nature Trail. Along the way stop off and explore the children’s play trail.
Stoke Bay, Gosport
Take a walk along the coast of Stoke Bay, Gosport. Head there on New Years Day and watch keen swimmers descend on the cold Christmas waters of the Solent for the annual New Years Day charity swim. Or if you are feeling keen sign up and take the plunge yourself.
Whitchurch
Enjoy a gentle stroll along the River Test on the Mill Trail at Whitchuch. The Waymarked walk passes five historic mills. Including the Silk Mill.
Southsea, Portsmouth
Take the family out, blow away those Christmas cobwebs and breathe in the sea air with a walk along Southsea beach. Lookout across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and watch boats and ships of various sizes pass by.
Lepe Country Park
Plan a festive walk with all the family and the dog around the Lepe Loop. This 5 mile circular walk covers a beautiful coastal and countryside route and is ideal for a leisurely walk to stretch the legs and clear weary heads!
