Tantalise your taste buds with a visit to the Test Valley, you’ll be spoilt with so many foodie things to do. The Test Valley is one of Hampshire’s gastronomic hotspots. It has the perfect ingredients to make world class produce, with fertile ground and crystal clear chalk streams, so it is unsurprising that the Waitrose Farm, Hildon Water and award winning vineyards have established their business in the region.
There’s a great café culture across the Test Valley, with plenty of places to stop off for a drink and a piece of cake. Discover Ewe and I Tea Room based at The Sheep Shed Gallery, or head to Longstock Park Farm Shop, Café & Nursery at the Leckford Estate home of Waitrose’s farm.

The Test Valley is home to some great restaurants including Keats Restaurant which has been open for over 40 years, offering a traditional dishes with a contemporary twist. The White Horse Hotel & Brasserie in Romsey holds a two – AA Rosette and unsurprisingly is very popular, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Cottonworth Vineyard is located a short distance from Stockbridge, learn about the wine making process on a guided tour which includes wine tasting and winemakers lunch. Or if you prefer a pint glass instead of a flute, Flack Manor Brewery hosts a number of brewery tours throughout the month. Please note that tours at the Cottonworth Vineyard and Flack Manor Brewery must be pre-booked.
The Test Valley is the birth place of fly fishing and is a mecca for fishing enthusiasts from around the world wanting to catch world class trout in the pristine clear waters of the River Test. There are a number of fly fishing organisations and schools which can take you fishing in the many private spots along the River Test.
Trout n’ About is a food festival named in honour of the Test Valley’s most famous animal, the trout. Held annually on the first Sunday of August, Stockbridge High Street is closed so that best local producers and artisans from across Hampshire can pitch up their stalls. Eat to your hearts content with stalls selling everything from cakes, coffee, local meat and of course trout! There is live music and crafts also on offer.
Don’t miss the Hampshire Farmers' Market, held the first Sunday of every month 10am - 2pm in Romsey, in the Alma Road Car Park (opposite Waitrose, Romsey, SO51 8ED).

Parsonage Farm is a small family run business that produces delicious salami, chorizo and merguez. Aside from production Parsonage Farm also run a number of workshops on sausage, charcuterie and salami making all held on their farm for an authentic experience. Also keep a look out at the local farmers' markets where you can pick up the charcuterie.
