About
This dog-friendly cottage, which sleeps 8 guests, is in a beautiful countryside location, close to the village of Downton in the New Forest National Park. It’s been crafted to offer lots of luxury comforts with plenty of space for friends and families to get together.
You’ll find log burners in the sitting room and the separate cosy snug –perfect if some of your guests are looking for some quiet time. In the warmer months, you’ll love the indoor/outdoor lifestyle with a wall of sliding glass doors leading to the garden terrace and a large lawn for the kids to run around and let off steam.
The outside space is fabulous in the summer months, with views of a colourful cut flower garden and a path down to a millpond, where you might fancy a spot of wild swimming. The famous fishing river, the River Avon, is a two-minute toddle through the woods that forms part of the Trafalgar Park House and estate, gifted to Nelson after his triumph in the Battle of Trafalgar.
There are wonderful walks from the front door, taking in lovely pubs and cafes for a bite to eat and photo opportunities with the New Forest’s famous free-roaming ponies and donkeys.
