About
For somewhere super special to stay, Argentor Cottage (sleeps 6) in the New Forest National Park ticks all the boxes. This 200-year-old cobb cottage is in the tiny village of East Boldre tucked down a little lane frequented by the famous free-roaming ponies and donkeys. It is surrounded by woods and vast heather plains for easy adventures on foot or by bike from the front door.
Step inside, and you are greeted by a serene Scandi vibe that runs throughout the cottage. Think natural elements of reclaimed wood and brick paired with funky ceramics and textiles such as linen blend cottons, wool in various textures and sheepskin.
Outside, a large wraparound garden is bordered by ancient lofty trees, established blooms, prairie planting and areas of wild meadow attracting butterflies and wildlife. French doors lead out to a series of grassy lawns and garden furniture to take in the views and spot deer nibbling the trees through the bushes.
If you can bear to drag yourself away, nearby attractions include Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Palace and Abbey, Bucklers Hard historic shipbuilding yard, Exbury Gardens, The New Forest Wildlife Park, Lepe Country Park, The Isle of Wight (there are day trips from Lymington) and the forest's wild beaches six miles south.
