Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market is recognised as one of the best in Europe. Taking place from 22nd November – 22nd December 2024, Winchester Cathedral's Christmas Market is renowned for its bustling atmosphere, stunning location and handpicked high quality exhibitors, which attracts visitors from around the world each year who come to shop at the pretty wooden chalets, situated within the historic grounds.
The wooden chalets are inspired by traditional German Christmas Markets, and combined with the festive lighting, the sound of Christmas carols and the aroma of mulled wine and cinnamon drifting in the air, visitors will be transported into a festive setting to purchase their Christmas gifts and take in the atmosphere.
For those in search of an authentic Christmas experience, the Cathedral is at the heart of the City's celebration, with its many Christmas services, carol concerts, events. More information coming soon.
Food and Drink
There’s plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink at the Christmas Market. You’ll find chalets selling festive favourites such as, mulled wine, bratwurst, mince pies and stollen. Alternatively, the Cathedral Refectory and Café Bar & Kitchen provide a warm and comfortable setting with plenty of seating and great menus.
British Crafts
Winchester Cathedral invite many British craftspeople to take part in the Christmas Market. If you’re looking for that special something make sure you visit the jewellers, painters, glass makers and textile artists selling unique gifts and decorations.
Nativity Scene
At the far end of the British Crafts Village you will find an enchanting nativity scene - providing an ideal opportunity to share the Christmas story amongst your party and take a fun photograph for Christmas.
