About
Stand-up comedy nights in the unique setting of the Winchester Science Centre's planetarium. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show!
Simon Evans: Simon is well known to the British comedy-going public from TV shows such as Live at the Apollo and Stand Up for the Week, and as a regular on BBC Radio 4, where his own hugely successful, acclaimed radio show Simon Evans Goes To Market returns for a fourth series in Spring 2018. A funny, incisive and informed look at the economics behind, well, everything – this is a great showcase for Simon's talents, as are his regular appearances on various panel games, most notably Radio 4's legendary The News Quiz.
Hugely popular at the Edinburgh festival, Simon has recently returned from the Fringe after a sell-out run of his new show, Genius. He received a coveted five star review from The Scotsman where his show was described as a 'masterclass in socio-political comedy' and an 'extraordinarily accomplished hour'.
'A formidably funny show of fantastic intellect' – The List
'Sizzingly entertaining… devastatingly funny gags' – The Guardian
'Super-sharp dry wit' – Time Out
Evelyn Mok: Evelyn Mok is the best thing to come out of Sweden since... IKEA? A stand-up comedian and actor born in Sweden to a father from Hong Kong and a Chinese mother born and raised in India, Mok challenges pre-disposed stereotypes with an unapologetic style and sharp witted hilarity.
BBC New Talent Hotlist 2017 WINNER and Best Comedy Newcomer, The Pleasance Indies Awards 2017
"seamlessly weaves personal anecdotes with complex cultural and political themes" - **** The Skinny
"Uncensored, unapologetic and... wildly refreshing" – **** BroadwayBaby
James Gill (MC): James Gill is a comedian, presenter, warm-up artiste and writer, establishing himself as one of the most popular compères on the circuit.
"I would go to the ends of the earth to share a stage with James Gill. He's a sharp & energetic hero of club comedy and a face we'll undoubtedly be seeing all over TV very soon" – Katherine Ryan
"One of the most imaginative MCs on the circuit. The crowd love him" – Rob Beckett
