About
Since the new Dr. Martens Southampton store opened its doors on the 24th of November, the brand has been sure to celebrate their arrival with a schedule of exciting activity.
Wednesday 6th December saw a special in-store gig from math pop four-piece Signals supported by UK folk-punk artist Sean McGowan. Artist and Director, School of Art, Design and Fashion at Southampton Solent University Peter Llyod has also created an exclusive work of art as a focal point of the new store.
Continuing support of local, homegrown talent, on Thursday 14th December, Re:So, Southampton Solent University's retail initiative will host a launch event to celebrate a brand new exhibition in association with Dr. Martens Southampton.
Dr. Martens invited Southampton Solent art students to customise 10 pairs of the iconic 1460 boot. Worn by individuals from all walks of life as a symbol of rebellious self-expression for nearly 60 years, students were encouraged to draw upon inspiration from the 1460's long rich heritage to create a pair of boots unique to them.
Unveiling the final 10 pairs at a special launch event at the Re:So store from 5 – 7pm on Thursday 14th December 2017, Dr. Martens, Re:So and Southampton Solent University invite you to join them for an evening of rebellious self expression and exciting new talent.
