Meet an amazing animatronic dinosaur and its offspring as they roam the main exhibition at Winchester Science Centre and enjoy hands-on dinosaur themed activities throughout the weekend.
Activities over the weekend, visitors can drop in to these special activities at no extra cost:
- Get up close and personal with the animatronic dinosaur and its offspring roaming around the Science Centre (timed appearances)
- Join in with the dinosaur-themed activities in the Invention Studio and check out the Dino Discovery Trail around the exhibition floor.
- Check out the Paleontology Pit exhibit and see what you can uncover!
- On Sunday 21 January, we will be accompanied by the Hampshire Cultural Trust who will be bringing along some fossils from Twyford Gap as well as a few Iguanodon dinosaur bones collected by a Winchester resident!
Planetarium Shows:
Enjoy a programme of live, presenter-led shows and 360° fulldome films throughout the weekend.
10.40am - Polaris (fulldome film, chatterbox show) (Saturday only)
11.30am - The Planet Show (live show, 4yr+ minimum)
12.20pm - Secrets of Gravity (fulldome film, chatterbox show)
1.10pm - Simply Stars (live show, 4yr+ minimum)
2.00pm - Polaris (fulldome film, chatterbox show)
2.50pm - The Planet Show (live show, 4yr+ minimum)
3.40pm - Secrets of Gravity (fulldome film, chatterbox show)
4.30pm - Back to the Moon: For Good (fulldome film)
Planetarium shows are ticketed and are not included in General Admission. Savings are available for those who book General Admission and Planetarium tickets in the same transaction and for annual pass holders.
*Chatterbox shows allow talking during the presentation, ideal for younger children and for those for whom listening quietly isn't possible. For all other shows we ask that the audience remain silent so that the show experience is at its best for all.
The Hub Café:
The onsite café stocks a range of hot and cold lunch and snacks including jacket potatoes, paninis, sandwiches, cakes, fruit and snacks and fresh coffee, speciality teas, cold drinks and ice creams.
Picnic tables are available indoors and in the outside picnic and play area. Seating in the café is reserved for those purchasing food and drink onsite.
How to book:
Dinosaur Weekend activities (excluding planetarium shows) are free of charge for Annual Pass holders and included in General Admission tickets. Buy tickets online in advance and save 10%. Further savings available when you book three tickets or more.
