One of southern England’s few remaining working potteries, Grayshott Pottery is a truly unique destination nestled in the countryside on the Hampshire Surrey border which offers a variety of activities and experiences suitable for the entire family. It’s also home to Surrey Ceramics, who produce unique tableware for some of your favourite restaurants throughout the UK.
Emporium
Grayshott Pottery has a vast Emporium where you can browse and shop their own ceramic tableware ranges as well as their famous Dartington Pottery pieces. The Emporium also offers quirky and unique gifts as well as beautiful home accessories. Shop everything from statement jewellery to striking home décor and tasty treats. The Emporium offers a tranquil escape and a relaxing shopping experience.
New in 2018, the Emporium now features a party shop where you can get all of your party essentials including decorations, party bag items and even helium balloons.
Kiln Café
On site is also the Kiln café where you can enjoy breakfasts, light and not so light lunches and terrific teas and cake. The Kiln Café at Grayshott Pottery not only serves up a mouthwatering, locally sourced menu on their own ceramics, but, as it overlooks the artists' studio, you can also watch their craftsman at work while you enjoy a tasty treat.
The Kiln café has both an indoor seating area and a covered patio area which has heaters for the winter months and a retractable roof to enjoy the sunshine in the summer months.
Events & Workshops
Grayshott Pottery also run a variety of pottery events and workshops throughout the year. These range from half term pottery painting and throwing events for children, right through to full day pottery throwing courses for adults. You can find out more about their latest events here.
Seconds Shop
If you’re looking for some perfectly imperfect pottery pieces, don’t forget to browse the seconds shop which is located in the main car park. These are often pieces that have been produced for some of your favourite restaurants, cafes and hotels from across the UK.
Tours
Grayshott Pottery offer a free ‘Journey of the Clay’ tour from Monday to Friday. The fantastic 30-minute tour through the working pottery is an inspirational insight into where and how their creations come to life, as you follow a lump of clay as it turns into a masterpiece.
