Ready for some chocolate-fuelled fun? To get your Easter off to a cracking start, we’ve rounded up a tasty selection of Easter hunts and trails taking place in Hampshire this spring.
Pack a picnic and follow an Easter trail in one of Hampshire’s beautiful spring gardens or hop on board a canoe for an egg-hunt with a difference along the Beaulieu River.
The eggs-tra long Easter weekend takes place from 29 March – 1 April 2024, and with two weeks of Easter school holidays to enjoy, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a spring break in Hampshire.
Hop to it, but remember that many Easter events need booking in advance, so be sure to check with the venue before you visit.
Canoe Easter Egg Hunt with New Forest Activities

Eggs-travaganza Easter hunt at Winchester Science Centre
16 March – 15 April 2024
Winchester Science Centre is delving into European folklore this Easter and the difference between the traditional Easter hare and the modern-day Easter bunny.
There will be an Easter hunt around the science centre exploring the difference between species of bunnies and hares with puzzles to solve and chocolate treats for all.

Easter Egg Hunts at the National Trust
23 March – 14 April 2024 (The Vyne's trail until 9 April 2024)
Easter trails with the National Trust never dis-egg-point and 2024 promises to be as marvellous as ever. At The Vyne near Basingstoke, children will work up an appetite with fun activities such as wheelbarrow racing and target practice, experience all the fun of a spring fete with the energetic Easter trail at Mottisfont, and at Hinton Ampner the action continues with challenges and activities suitable for the whole family – all with chocolate egg rewards.

Exbury Gardens will be running an outdoors easter trail for children over the Easter weekend, where the Exbury bunnies have used spring flowers to decorate their burrows. Complete the trail sheet and an egg-cellent prize awaits!

Det-egg-tive Trail at Marwell Zoo
29 March – 14 April 2024
Visit Marwell Zoo over the Easter holidays and help the Easter Bunny to find the cheeky egg thief with the Det-egg-tive Trail.
Keep an eye out for hidden golden eggs around the park and scan the QR code for a chance to win an egg-cellent prize.
There will also be garden games, a special Easter tipi photo op, plus candy floss and fresh hot doughnuts on the hall drive.

Easter weekend at West Green House

Easter Egg hunt at Whitchurch Silk Mill
10 April 2024
Hop down to Whitchurch Silk Mill on 10 April and join in the search for chocolate eggs in the Mill grounds. Each child will be given a bag and sheet to collect 15 chocolates from different locations around the grounds.

Easter at Stansted Park

Visit Stansted Park this Easter holidays and hunt for the 12 Easter eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny. Discover more about the Earls of Bessborough as you search the beautiful State Rooms and extensive Servants Quarters.
The Stansted Yew Maze and Light Railway will also be open during the Easter Holidays.

A brand new event is arriving at the Watercress Line this Easter. Meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy Easter themed activities across the railway, including Easter themed sing-a-longs on the trains, Easter activities, and an Easter egg spotter trail.

2 – 14 April 2024
Continuing the Easter fun at The Watercress Line throughout the Easter holidays will be two themed Egg hunts with clues to find as you hop on and off the trains along the railway. From 2 to 7 April find the Easter Eggs and for the second week of the holidays from 8 to 14 April find the Dinosaur Eggs.

Free Easter fun at Fort Nelson
29 March – 14 April 2024
There will be free Easter fun at Fort Nelson throughout the Easter holidays with a Bunny Bingo trail for younger visitors to find trail boards with Easter eggs on them to get a full house on a bingo card – with the reward of a badge for those who complete it.
There will also be special falconry events on 2, 4, 9, and 11 April with birds of prey flying high above the Fort.

The Bowerbird Easter Scavenger Hunt at Birdworld
29 March – 14 April 2024
At Birdworld this Easter children can follow the trail of Bowerbird, the delightful tale of a small bird with a very big heart, by Julia Donaldson.
There will be character posters with bright coloured eggs to look for and stickers to earn along the way with a certificate and a chocolate treat at the end of the trail.

Southampton's Old Town Easter Trail
28 March – 14 April 2024
A free and fun way to explore the city, Visit Southampton's new family Easter trail guides you through Southampton's historic Old Town to discover several Easter eggs hidden in windows.
Spot the bunnies hidden in the colourful designs of the eggs and bring your completed map to the final destination, where children will receive a free small prize for all their hard work.

Winchester Bunny Hop Easter Trail
29 March – 14 April 2024
Pick up a free trail sheet from the Visitor Information Centre, The Arc or Winchester City Museum or download online and hop around Winchester this Easter following the annual Bunny Hop Trail.
Easter-themed words will be hidden in the windows of local businesses to help little bunnies to complete their sheets in return for an Easter treat.

Easter at Queen Elizabeth Country Park

Roll on down to Queen Elizabeth Country Park in the South Downs this Easter holidays to try out the Big Butser Egg Roll trail. Purchase a trail pack and see how far you can roll your rubber egg.
