Ready for some chocolate-fuelled fun? To get your Easter off to a cracking start, we’ve rounded up a tasty selection of Easter hunts and trails taking place in Hampshire this spring.
Pack a picnic and follow an Easter trail in one of Hampshire’s beautiful spring gardens or learn about wildlife along the way with an egg-hunt at an animal attraction.
The eggs-tra long Easter weekend takes place from Friday 18 April – Monday 21 April 2025, and with two weeks of Easter school holidays to enjoy, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a spring break in Hampshire.
Hop to it! But remember that many Easter events need booking in advance, so be sure to check with the venue before you visit.

Eggs-travaganza Easter hunt at Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium
4 April – 22 April 2025
Join Winchester Science Centre during the Easter school holidays for an oviparity egg hunt to find and learn about eggs laid by animals that hatch.
There will also be a new Easter tale with the Science Inspirers to discover what happens when an animal hatches and takes its first footsteps into the world.

Around the World in 80 Species at Marwell Zoo
5 April – 21 April 2025
Pick up a Marwell Passport and join the adventure trail around the zoo in 80 species. Discover animals from across the continents and collect stamps along the way.
Plus, on Easter Sunday (20 April), meet the Easter Bunny and find the hidden eggs around the zoo to win prizes as part of the Big Easter Egg Hunt.

Easter Egg Hunts at the National Trust
29 March – 21 April 2025
Easter trails with the National Trust never dis-egg-point and 2025 promises to be as marvellous as ever.
At The Vyne near Basingstoke, from 29 March – 21 April there will be Regency-themed Easter activities in celebration of the 250th birthday of Hampshire author Jane Austen who often attended balls at the Tudor mansion.
At Mottisfont near Romsey, from 5 – 21 April there will be a delightful mix of traditional and whimsical funfair games including a coconut shy, hook a duck, and wacky races.
And at Hinton Ampner near Alresford, from 5 – 21 April, follow the spring trail and play 10 games and activities for the whole family.

Easter Egg hunt at Whitchurch Silk Mill
16 April 2025
Hop down to Whitchurch Silk Mill on 16 April and join in the search for chocolate eggs in the Mill grounds. Each child will be given a bag and sheet to collect 15 chocolates from different locations around the grounds.

Easter at Stansted Park
20 April – 21 April 2025
Visit Stansted Park this Easter holidays and hunt for the Easter eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny. Discover more about the Earls of Bessborough as you search the beautiful State Rooms and extensive Servants Quarters. The Stansted Yew Maze will also be open during the Easter Weekend.

Easter Bunny Train at The Watercress Line
17 April – 21 April 2025
Meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy the special Easter trains at The Watercress Line this Easter. Enjoy travelling on the heritage trains with themed sing-along songs and jokes with the Easter Bunny's helpers. Children receive a free activity sheet and a small chocolate egg. There will also be crafts, an Easter egg spotter trail, Easter colouring, and Easter themed selfie spots.

Birds in Folklore Egg Hunt at Gilbert White's House and Gardens
4 April – 27 April 2025
Learn about ecology like Gilbert White himself. Young ornithologists will love looking for the ten eggs hidden in Gilbert White's Garden, each revealing stories and folklore about some of our best loved British birds. Match the birds pictured on the eggs with the stories about them and claim your own chocolate egg.

Highclere’s Easter Egg Trail
19 April 2025
Get on Down-to(n) Highclere Castle on Saturday 19 April for the annual Easter trail through its impressive gardens and woodland with clues to be collected by children taking part and a chocolate Easter egg reward at the end.
Easter festivities continue throughout the day with a participatory Easter bonnet parade and the chance to meet some of the estate’s farm animals.

Easter at West Green House
18 – 21 April 2025
Eggs-plore West Green House over the Easter weekend and follow the Easter Bunny trail through the blossom-filled 10-acre spring garden. Children will receive a traditional Easter treat at the end of their adventure and they will also be able to visit the petting zoo.
