The eggs-tra long Easter weekend takes place from 7 – 10 April 2023, and with two weeks of Easter school holidays to enjoy, it’s the perfect time to enjoy an Easter break in Hampshire.

Canoe Easter Egg Hunt with New Forest Activities

The Easter bunny will be hiding treats along the Beaulieu riverside this April ready to be found by those embarking on the canoe Easter egg hunt with New Forest Activities.
Egg-splorers will enjoy a fun-filled Easter paddle along the Beaulieu River before disembarking to hunt for the eggs along the riverside.

Easter at 'Eggs-bury' Gardens

Young ornithologists will love the bird-themed Easter trail at Exbury Gardens in the New Forest as they follow the clues to match different types of birds with their eggs around the beautiful springtime gardens.
When they’ve spotted all the answers and completed the trail sheet, little adventurers can claim a chocolate Easter treat.

Boom & Bloom at Winchester Science Centre

Spring is definitely in the air at Winchester Science Centre this Easter with this brand-new seasonal science event.
As well as a live Flower Power science show and Bio:Space garden activities, there’s an oviparity egg hunt where young scientists can look for eggs laid by animals that hatch. Once they’ve found them all they’ll receive a delicious Easter treat.

Easter Egg Hunts at the National Trust

Take on the Easter challenges with a spring adventure at a National Trust property this April. Children can burn off some Easter energy with ten fun challenges to complete on each trail, from classic egg and spoon racing at The Vyne near Basingstoke and running like a rabbit at Hinton Ampner near Winchester, to bug bingo at Uppark in the South Downs and village fete-themed fun at Mottisfont near Romsey. Participants are sure to have earned their chocolate egg by the end!

Easter Fun at Fort Nelson

A free Easter bunny hunt awaits younger visitors to Fort Nelson near Portsmouth this Easter, who can explore the Victorian fort and be rewarded with a small prize if they find all the rabbits.

Bunny Hop Easter Trail, Winchester

Winchester’s free annual Bunny Hop Easter Trail is a great way to explore the city and its local shops and businesses. Hop around the city’s beautiful historic streets in search of Easter-themed words hidden in the windows of local businesses, then return your completed trail sheet for an Easter-themed treat.
Trail sheets can be downloaded online or collected from the Visitor Information Centre, The Arc or Winchester City Museum.

Big Butser Egg Roll Trail at Queen Elizabeth Country Park

Roll on down to Queen Elizabeth Country Park in the South Downs this Easter holidays to try out the Big Butser Egg Roll trail.
Purchase a trail pack online and follow the signs of spring to the bottom of Butser Hill where you can see how far your rubber egg rolls.

Easter at Beaulieu

Hop aboard the Easter celebrations at Beaulieu, the Home of the National Motor Museum this April with parades taking place throughout the Easter holidays in the main arena.

Highclere’s Easter Egg Trail
15 April
On Easter Saturday, Highclere Castle is hosting its special Easter egg trail in its impressive gardens and woodland with clues to be collected by children taking part and a chocolate Easter egg reward at the end.
Easter festivities continue throughout the day with a participatory Easter bonnet parade and the chance to meet some of the estate’s farm animals.

The Easter Bunny will be visiting the West Green House Garden near Hook on Easter weekend, leaving a trail for children to follow through the blossom-filled 10-acre spring garden.
