Fun doesn’t have to be pricey. There are so many fabulous things to do in Hampshire that won’t burn a big hole in your wallet so we’ve rounded up ten terrific things you can do for a tenner or less in the county.

Ticket prices were correct at the time of publishing but please check with each attraction before visiting and you can often get the best prices if you book online in advance too.


1. Buckler's Hard River Cruise

Once a bustling shipbuilding village, charming Buckler’s Hard is a tranquil place for a riverside stroll and picnic. Buckler’s Hard village is free to enter but your visit can be enhanced from Easter to October with a cruise on the Beaulieu River for £7.50 for an adult ticket and £5.50 for children. 


2. Sky Park Farm

This delightful farm and visitor centre near Petersfield has a farm trail devoted to deer and a brilliant adventure playground for the kids. Adult tickets are £6.50, children £3.50, and under 3s are free.


3. Whitchurch Silk Mill

Weave your way through the history of the textiles industry with a visit to Whitchurch Silk Mill, a 19th century water mill that weaves English silk fabrics using 19th century machinery. Adult entry is £10, children £5, and under 5s are free.


4. Hurst Castle

Henry VIII’s artillery fortress sits at the seaward end of a New Forest coastal spit offering one of the best views in England. Explore this Tudor fort for just £6 for an adult ticket, £4 for a child, and free for under 5s.


5. God's House Tower

God's House Tower is an arts and heritage venue located at the entrance to Southampton’s fascinating Old Town. Entry is free, but tickets for the Stories Behind the Stones exhibition are well worth their £5 (free for under 16s) with each floor of the Tower taking you on a journey through time until you reach the rooftop with views of the Port of Southampton.


6. Manor Farm

Pull up your wellies and join in the daily activities at Manor Farm alongside the resident cows, sheep, goats, donkeys, and alpacas. A day out at this beautiful traditional friendly farm is £10 for adults, £8 for children, and under 3s go free.


7. Eling Tide Mill

Visitors can step back in time and enjoy learning about the workings of the newly restored mill at the Grade II* listed Eling Tide Mill near Southampton. Ticket prices are £7.50 for adults and £4.50 for children.


8. Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve

This nationally renowned wetland nature reserve at Hill Head is a rich habitat of rivers and marshlands making it a must-visit for birdwatching and wildlife enthusiasts. Adult entry is £6.50 and children 5 years and older are £3.50.


9. West Green House Gardens

The theatrical West Green House Gardens in Hartley Wintney is also known as The Opera Garden, referring to its creator’s combined passions for English gardens and international opera. Adult entry is £10, children are £5, and little ones aged 3 and under are free.


10. Aldershot Military Museum

Housed in the only surviving brick-built barrack blocks left in Aldershot, Aldershot Military Museum tells the story of daily life for both soldier and civilian in the town since 1854. Pay once and visit with your ticket all year with adult entry costing £9 and children £4.50.
