1. Afternoon Tea at Oakley Hall Hotel, Basingstoke

2. Mothering Sunday Carvery at Winchester Cathedral’s Refectory, Winchester

Celebrate Mother’s Day at Winchester Cathedral with a special Mothering Sunday service. After the service enjoy a delicious Sunday Carvery in the Paul Woodhouse Suite where each Mum will receive a small gift. Pre-booking of the carvery is required.

3. High Tea Experience at Emirates Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth

Take your Mum 100 meters above the city of Portsmouth, at Emirates Spinnaker Tower and treat her to a high tea experience with a view. The traditional high teas include an assortment of sandwiches, cakes and scones. The high tea experience must be booked in advance.

4. A Day out at in Chawton with a visit to Jane Austen’s House Museum and Chawton House

Spend the day with your Mum exploring the village of Chawton, famous for its connections with Jane Austen. Visit Jane Austen’s House Museum and see the desk where Jane use to write her books. Afterwards, adventure on a 10 minute walk down the road to Chawton House, discover the house’s connections to women writers, enjoy lunch in the tearooms and explore the beautiful gardens.

5. Mother’s Day Lunch and a Walk around the Gardens at Sir Harold Hiller Gardens, Romsey

If you’re Mum is a garden lover, this is a treat for her. Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in located on the edge of the historic market town of Romsey and is famous for its arboretum and gardens. Enjoy lunch in the garden’s restaurant followed by a walk around the gardens to see some of the 42,000 plants that the gardens is home to.

6. Afternoon Tea and a Steam Train Ride on The Watercress Line, Alresford

For an adventurous Mother’s Day head to the New Forest National Park and join New Forest Activities for a paddle down the River Beaulieu to the pub. You’ll enjoy a gentle tour along the river before disembarking at the Master Builder’s pub and treating your Mum to her favourite drink. This activity must be booked in advance.

9. Mother’s Day Chocolate Making Workshop with Chocolate Craft, Alresford

Is your Mum a chocolate lover? Book her onto a chocolate making workshop run by the expert chocolatiers at Chocolate Craft. Each workshop lasts for 2.5 hours and you’ll learn the techniques and skills for chocolate making. At the end of the day you can take home the chocolates you have made. 11. A Visit to The Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth where Mums go Free

Henry VIII loved his mum, Elizabeth of York, but she never got to see his pride and joy – the Mary Rose! Treat your mum this Mother's Day and take her to see the historic flagship, The Mary Rose for free! Explore the famous warship and see fascinating Tudor artefacts that were unearthed from the depths of the Solent, after more than 400 years in the seabed.
