For those looking to quench the quandary of countryside or coastline, you’ll easily slip into holiday mode renting this large, dog-friendly home for 7 guests in New Milton. The market town is in the southwest corner of Hampshire, a couple of miles each way between the New Forest National Park and the unspoilt beach and cliff-top walks of Barton on Sea. Spend your mornings among the famous free-roaming ponies in the New Forest, with pit stops for lunch in one of the many historic thatched pubs. Then, switch direction to the coast for a lovely swim and a walk, enjoying views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight, where seals and dolphins play.
Return to Twenty-One for a home with thoughtful styling and plenty of home comforts. When it’s cold outside, light the big log burner before flopping into deep, squishy sofas for a snooze before planning the next day’s activities. There are four big bedrooms (two on the ground floor) and three bathrooms, two of which are ensuites.
