This charming semi-detached thatched cottage built in the 1600s and listed as a Grade II building was originally 2 cottages. Situated in Emery Down, 5 mins walk from Lyndhurst with its variety of shops and restaurants. Idyllic setting with direct access to the forest, overlooks Swan Green where ponies and deer graze. Beautifully original beamed spacious double living room with inglenook fireplace, dining area with oak table.  Furnished as owner’s own holiday home offers a welcoming base in one of loveliest areas in the Forest. Pictured in international papers on postcards and placemats, it is one of most photographed cottages in the Forest.

Two staircases lead upstairs to 3 good-sized cottage bedrooms with individual access: 2 double bedrooms plus 1 twin bedroom all with quaint sloping roofs. Television room with double sofa bed, television, DVD. Bathroom with bath and overbath shower, toilet and sink. Spacious shower room with sink, toilet and bidet. Free wifi. Front and large enclosed back garden. Private parking for 2 cars.

Coffee and specialist teas are provided for guests as well as all linen and cleaning products. 

Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Cottage is tastefully furnished with a variety of antiques, but with all the advantages of modern amenities. Electric shower in spacious shower room. High speed Wifi.  Child gate can be fitted to one staircase.

All within a relatively short drive are the magnificent sequoias of Ornamental Drive, Exbury Gardens with its exquisite display of azaleas and rhododendrons, Beaulieu’s world famous National Motor Museum, Paulton Amusement Park with Pepper Pig World, Longdale Farm, the seaside town of Lymington with its Saturday market and ferry to the Isle of Wight. The historic cities of Winchester and Portsmouth are all within easy driving distance and Stonehenge a day's outing. Shopping at West Quay in nearby Southampton or Bournemouth.
