America's Cup World Series Racing Boat in Portsmouth

The Emirates America’s Cup World Series in Portsmouth

The Emirates America’s Cup World Series (ACWS) is returning to Portsmouth in June 2020. As Official Presenting Partner of the ACWS Portsmouth, Emirates has helped secure the event during which world-class America’s Cup sailors will return to the Solent for a thrilling preliminary regatta from 4th to 7th June 2020 as part of the competition to win the oldest sporting trophy in the world.

Update: It is with great regret that the America’s Cup Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand, and local organising authority ORIGIN Sports Group announce the unavoidable cancellation of Emirates ACWS Portsmouth. For more information please see America's Cup website.

Southern Braves at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton

The Hundred at the Ageas Bowl

The Hundred is a brand-new cricket competition and is coming to The Ageas Bowl for Summer 2020. The family friendly competition will run throughout the summer holidays from 17th July – 15th August 2020 and will feature some of the world’s best players. Representing Southern Brave is England's cricket sensations Jofra Archer and Danni Wyatt. Visiting teams to The Ageas Bowl will include cricket superstars Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan, Jos Buttler, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow.

A new enchanting play area is coming to Beaulieu in Spring 2020. Let your little ones run free and let off steam whilst exploring Little Beulieu’s wooden palace, a slide through the grand fireplace, secret staircases, an epic climbing wall, a wooden car, balance stepping stones and a zip wire. Little Beaulieu play area is inspired by the real history of the Beulieu site and its architectural features.

Supersized Brick Models at Marwell Zoo

SUPERSIZED! Brick Adventure at Marwell Zoo

Another exciting brick adventure is coming to Marwell Zoo in 2020 and this time it will be taking the shape of supersized toy brick creatures. Explore the zoo whilst looking out for some of the deadliest and most deceptive creatures in the world, all blown up to enormous proportions including a three-metre tarantula and a towering two-metre cobra! The models will be on display from the 4th April – 3rd September 2020.

English National Badminton Championships in Winchester

English National Badminton Championships

2020 will see the English National Championships of the fastest racket sport, badminton come to the historic city of Winchester. This two-day action-packed event will see singles, doubles and mixed doubles compete to become the English National Champion. Will Rio Olympic bronze medallist Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge secure their 3rd English national title of their career in Hampshire? See all the action for yourself by booking tickets.

Flying Scotsman at the Watercress Line

The Flying Scotsman at The Watercress Line 

The Watercress Line will welcome the famous record-breaking Flying Scotsman locomotive for the first time ever in 2020. Enjoy a trip through the Hampshire countryside and feel the thrill as the Flying Scotsman conquers the 1 in 60 ‘over the Alps’ climb to the summit at Medstead and Four Marks. Tickets must be booked in advance but be quick as this event will sell out!

Blue Light Day in Beaulieu Home of the National Motor Museum

Get up-close to the latest emergency services vehicles at Beaulieu’s brand new Blue Light Day on the 26th April 2020. Emergency services will be parked up in the grounds including fully kitted-out fire engines, the coast guard, police vehicles, ambulances and the RNLI. Look inside, meet the crews who drive the vehicles and find out more about what they do.

Gilbert White 300 in Hampshire

Gilbert White 300 at Gilbert White’s House

Gilbert White is best known as one of the first naturalist and for his major discoveries in the world of natural history. Today he is described as the original David Attenborough and 2020 will mark the 300th anniversary of his birth. To celebrate this important anniversary Gilbert White’s House, in the village of Selborne, will be hosting a special exhibition looking at the global impact of Gilbert White’s work and display international editions of The Natural History of Selborne.

Mayflower Monument in Southampton

Mayflower 400 in Southampton

2020 will mark the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower ship from the UK to the New World. The Mayflower and her sister ship, The Speedwell, set sail from Southampton on the 15th August 1620 with 102 passengers onboard. The city of Southampton will be marking the anniversary with several exhibitions, events, performances and guided tours.
