General Pitch Information

Our Campsite is situated within a forest and the pitches are formed around the natural lay of the woodlands. Consequently, the ground which you will pitch up on is that of a typical forest floor. This means that your pitch could be slightly gravelly; be a silted surface; have tree roots or pinecones scattered around; or be slightly uneven.

For those booking any tent pitch, we strongly recommend that you bring toughened metal tent pegs and an extra ground sheet for added protection and comfort.

Premium Pitches

These are electric pitches which provide you with slightly more privacy than normal electric pitches and are ideal for caravans, campervans, motor homes and trailer tents. Some are suitable for tents; see the map for pitches in blue. Pitches are only suitable for tents up to an 8 berth.

Electric Pitches

Suitable for caravans, campervans, motor homes, and trailer tents. Some are suitable for tents. Please ask at time of booking. Pitches are only suitable for tents up to an 8 berth. Please see below for electric power supply information

Non-Electric Pitches

These pitches are for tents only. Small campervans, motorhomes etc are not permitted on these pitches

Campsite Facilities

The washing facilities are found in the middle of the Campsite and comprise of toilets, free showers, hot and cold water, electric shaving points and hair driers (coin operated). There is a launderette situated next to the facilities, with a washing machine, tumble drier, and an iron. Washer and Drier tokens can be purchased from either the Campsite Warden or Reception, and the iron is coin operated.

As well as this, at the launderette, there is a freezer, for campers to store ice blocks; a public telephone; and 13amp plug sockets, which are coin operated, to charge electronic devices or to use hair straighteners.

Washing Up Area

This is a covered, lit area found behind the launderette, with a hot and cold water supply for washing of utensils etc.

Electric

Each hook up point is clearly numbered on each pitch and delivers a maximum of 1.5KW (6 amps) per pitch. Please ensure that you do not exceed this wattage, as it may cause the circuit to trip. Generators are not permitted.

You will need to bring an electric hook up cable with you as we do not supply them.  Cables should be a standard 16amp outdoor cable with a minimum of 10m to ensure you can reach the hook up point

Grey Water Waste Point

A drive-over facility for Motorhomes’ grey water waste only.

TV Signal

As with the wi-fi, due to our location, the TV signal is also very poor.

Refuse

Refuse sites are found by pitch 25 and opposite the Campsite Warden’s lodge. Please remember to recycle where possible. There are separate bins available for general rubbish, mixed recycling and glass. There are also areas for disposing of used barbeque coals at these points.

Elsan Points

These are situated near the refuse points. Please ensure you ONLY put toilet waste down them as nappies, wipes and sanitary towels will block this facility. For these items, please use the sanitary and nappy bins provided in the main toilet block.

Please note the following useful tips:

  • For tents or trailer tents, we recommend that you bring both an extra ground sheet to offer better protection and toughened metal tent pegs. Plastic pegs will struggle to cope with the ground.
  • There is no additional charge for awnings.
  • We also recommend that you bring a torch, as neither the campsite nor the Country Park are lit at night.
  • Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather conditions, including storage for any wet items. The Park and Campsite are almost fully outdoors with very little cover for adverse conditions. Please note that refunds will not be given for poor weather.
  • Due to our location, you will encounter typical woodland insects such as wasps, ticks etc– please come prepared!
